Description
Framed B&O Railroad Common Stock with a Vintage Collectible Cast Iron Steam Train. Also, includes the shown railroad track, which is for display purposes only.
Fun fact: The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad was incorporated in the State of Maryland on February 28, 1827. Investing in the railroad was not something that everybody could afford to do, back in the day.
This professionally framed, common stock certificate is for five shares, at $100 per share, which equals a $500.00 value, at that time. Stocks go up, and stocks come down, as businesses expand, get bought, and sold. This stock # A99046 was purchased by investors of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad on August 20th, 1915. It’s professionally framed and well preserved, to be a unique display item, to add to, or to start collecting your own railroad memorabilia, with this framed stock and this cast iron train. The train is cast iron, not plastic, so it’s quite heavy, as it should be, and it was hand painted. It is not intended to be a toy for little people, due to the weight. The framed B&O stock measures 15″ x 10 3/4″ x 1″ deep, and it shows some minor moisture on the back of the frame, which isn’t evident when hanging on the wall. The stock itself measures 10 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ within the green matting. The cast iron train measures 9 1/2″ wide x 7″ tall x 3″ deep. Free shipping within the continental United States.
